Everyone is part of some kind of a community. Whether we live in small towns or big cities, virtually no one can live totally isolated from everyone else. That’s why it’s important to help kids understand the important roles community helpers have and the many ways they serve. You can share about ten of these roles with this FREE Community Helpers Guided Drawing activity.

In this FREE Community Helpers Guided Drawing activity, kids can learn about ten different types of community helpers that help us live safe and healthy lives. They’ll learn a little about the history of several of the professions and about what kind of training is needed to accomplish others.
Each worksheet also includes an image of an object needed to do a job, such as a dental chair, walkie talkie, hair dryer, etc. After learning about the profession, students have the opportunity to draw either the entire image or half the image provided on a grid. Or, they can draw half the image first as practice before trying the complete drawing.
The community helpers featured in this unit include:
- astronaut
- dentist
- farmer
- firefighter
- hair stylist
- lifeguard
- mechanic
- police officer
- postal worker
