Why are we not surprised when our kids aren’t too excited to learn about dentists? These free ways to learn about community helpers: dentists especially, can help your kids understand just how helpful dentists really are.

The dentists are not our enemy. Usually, when we see cartoons with dentists in them, it is NOT a good sight.
Let me rewind your mind to the dentist out of Sydney, Australia in a little movie you may have watched called Finding Nemo.
Remember when Nemo was in the tank and needed to escape back into the ocean? In the background was loud drilling noises and screaming kids.
How do we get that idea of a mad dentist out of the minds of our kiddos? It may not be easy, especially during that first dental visit or next annual visit.
Studying community helpers can be a great time to teach your kids all about dentists and what they do. This may be exactly what they need to help their comfort levels when they eventually have to visit one.
The best thing about teaching from home is that it can absolutely not cost a thing.

Dentists don’t have to be the bad guys. Do some research and find a kid-friendly dentist. Where we lived in Florida, we found an absolutely amazing dentist.
The atmosphere was totally for the kids with games, smart devices, televisions, and Christian music to calm them and us as parents. Dentists truly are community helpers!
