Easter is almost here, and if you do DIY Easter baskets then I am sure you are already preparing some fun things for your kids. Yet, if you are anything like me, you may cringe at the thought of giving your kids so much sugar on Easter morning. That is why I am excited to share these non candy Easter basket ideas with you.
DIY Easter Baskets
You can create a very special Easter basket without all the sweet treats. As your kids get older, they may even thank you. I usually stick one high quality piece of candy into their basket and some organic bunny fruit snacks or cheddar bunny crackers. We also enjoy making crafts, so adding easy Easter crafts to my children’s Easter baskets makes for a fun activity.
There is always an Easter bunny stuffed animal or a special toy along with lots of non food items. What I like about non-candy Easter basket stuffers is that they can be customized to your child’s interests with fun things that they love. When you have a basket that is mostly full of candy, that seems to take away from the other items in the basket.
A non-candy basket is a great way to give your children fun gifts that you know they will enjoy. You can even use a different color for each child and have many of the items themed to their favorite color.
What do you put in an Easter basket?
The sky is the limit to what you can put into an Easter basket. Candy has always been the most popular option stuffed into colorful plastic eggs. Chocolate Easter bunnies are also a traditional gift to put in a basket. Some people like to put money or coins in plastic eggs as well.
Non candy items are gaining popularity such as: toys, books, arts and craft supplies and little games. There are lots of creative ideas for baskets that don’t include candy.
What are the top 5 most popular Easter basket items?
- Stuffed toys such as Easter bunnies, lambs, chicks or ducks.
