In general, I am not a big advocate for schooling toddlers and preschoolers. I believe they can be taught, but it should be done through play. There are plenty of activities and games you can play together that encourage learning.
Learning colors naturally is a great place to start. Play “I Spy” games with your little ones, have them help you sort toys into specific colors or they could bring you an object in the color you say. My kids loved playing those games when they were little. And they were so happy when they “won” because they got it right.
However, using printables to increase their learning is also great. And if they’re free, even better! I love having printable exercises and quick games on hand for whatever we’re learning. Plus, if you laminate them, they can be used over and over, which is perfect for little learners!
We have gathered some FREE printables and fun activities for you to use when teaching your little ones all about colors.
