Tricky Ways to Teach Fine Motor Skills for Little Ones

Fine motor skills can be super fun by introducing some sneaky fun ways to work on the skills. Making learning fun is beneficial for both a mom and child, even from the early ages. Learn some tricky ways to teach fine motor skills for your little ones and see how much they enjoy it without even knowing they are learning.

There is something about “school mode” that made my son extra wiggly and wobbly when he was young. Maybe I just saw it that way.

Either way, teaching fine motor skills don’t have to be taxing for either of you. It can be fun and woven into everyday tasks to boost skills without your young ones even noticing.

Two of my very favorite motor skills activities I read about in this article had to do with girls, although there are boy fun fine motor skill tasks as well.

I didn’t learn how to French braid until a couple of years ago. I always felt like my brain couldn’t tell my fingers what to do. It was really frustrating. I can imagine how hard it must be for a young learner to try to braid, but if you practice with them you will be building fine motor skills that even adults have a hard time doing. That is pretty cool!

Another one of my favorites is having your girls give mani/pedis. Little girls love giving mani/pedis. Yes, you will need a lot of nail polish remover afterward. However, kids really love painting nails and are so proud once they have finished their last nail.
