Deserts are fascinating places to study, and no two deserts are exactly alike. Each has its own unique characteristics, plants, animals, and more. Help your students compare and contrast some of these elements with this FREE Deserts of the World Notebooking Activity.
I’ll admit that I love warm (even reasonably hot) weather, but I would be a total wimp if I had to survive in the desert. There are so many creatures that live there, like reptiles and arachnids and all sorts of other frightening animals, that I just don’t think I’d survive. Never mind the fact that I can hardly get through a run for groceries without taking something to rehydrate with me in the car. But with this FREE Deserts of the World Notebooking Activity, your students don’t have to brave the deserts of the world to learn about them!
With this unit, students have the opportunity to compare and contrast 28 deserts in sets of 2. They’ll explore deserts from all over the world and compare and contrast elements such as:
- each desert’s location
- each desert’s animal life
- each desert’s plant life
- each desert’s average precipitation
- each desert’s average temperature
Notebooking pages and Venn diagrams are included. Space is also provided for students to draw one of each set of deserts they study, and they can also create four flashcards for each set to help them remember what they’ve learned about plants and animals that interest them.
