Preschoolers love colorful books and they make for such a great way to learn numbers and counting. My daughter’s FAVORITE counting book was Ten Little Ladybugs. She loved feeling the ladybugs on the page and we memorized the book because we read it every day! We discovered that book after she fell in love with Goodnight Sweet Butterflies (a book about colors).
Young children learn so much from books, especially counting books. The brightly colored pages with objects that you can count with them make learning how to count fun. It doesn’t even have to necessarily be a book about counting because you can count anything – objects of particular color, shape, or “subject,” such as animals or flowers.
I love homeschooling the preschool years. Teaching children how to read can be a bit daunting, I admit, but the other basic skills such as teaching letters, shapes, numbers, colors, and bible memory is so much fun. Kids are like little sponges and they absorb EVERYTHING!
We created the Preschool Practice Pack to teach all the fun stuff to early learners. It has over 148 pages of preschool practice and teaches the alphabet, the numbers 1-13, thirteen shapes, colors, and thirteen bible verses (NKJV), and weaves in review at the end of each week. This HUGE pack is only $9.95 and you can view samples of the Preschool Practice Pack to see if it’s something your littles will enjoy.
