Use this free character emotions chart with reading lessons to understand how a character is feeling or during writing to add emotions to stories.
You can place a copy in your child’s notebook for help with reading response journals and/or with writing journals.
The freebie includes a color chart and a black and white chart. The first chart has a list of basic emotions and corresponding images. The second chart is for older kids and includes synonyms. Not all emotions are represented of course, so your child can use the blank faces to draw feelings and write additional emotions they find while reading.
If you are looking for even more printables and activities on feelings and emotions, be sure to check out this post (you can even download a FREE emotions tracker!)
