Do you have a preschooler or kindergartner that is learning how to write? Learning how to hold a pencil correctly is an important fine motor skill that we need to teach our kids, but some children may struggle with this task.
Learning how to write can be frustrating if your child doesn’t know how to hold their pencil the correct way. You may find yourself constantly correcting them and having to adjust their grip. This can really put a damper on learning and enjoying school. If you have a child that struggles with proper pencil grip, I have found some tips and tricks that may help you out in your homeschool writing time.
Tips and tricks for proper pencil grip:
The Pom Pom Trick from I Heart Speech is a great way to help your kids hold their pencil correctly. You don’t even have to use a pom-pom! There are many tips and suggestions for materials around your house that you can use.
