The first time I ever participated in any type of Hymn Study was in a small Charlotte Mason co-op. Carrie and I were co-teachers in the middle school aged class. We had no idea what we were doing, but we had a lot of fun researching the hymns and finding printables for them. We would take turns reading the background of the Hymn writer and the story behind the hymn. Then we normally had our students fill out a notebooking page while we played the hymn off of You Tube or a cd.
Great is Thy Faithfulness is based on one of my favorite verses:
Lamentations 3:22-24 ~ Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, Therefore I hope in Him!
I love this hymn. I can still hear the melody and my Grandma’s voice singing it next to me in the old Southern Baptist church we attended when I was a little girl.

Here is the classic version of the hymn sung by the Bluerock Mennonite Youth Choir. It is very pretty.
