I don’t know about where you live, but in Pennsylvania where I am, summer has been a long time in coming. I had to wear a sweater today – in June. Crazy. So let’s think warmer thoughts and dig into some Free Summer Fun Writing Prompts!
This unit includes 10 summer-themed writing prompts. Each is light-hearted and gives students just the very start of a story. It’s up to them where the story goes from there!
Just a few situations kids may find themselves in with these writing prompts are –
- spotting a mysterious figure behind the Ferris wheel at the fair
- grabbing the bug spray and then finding out that the buzzing noise wasn’t from a bug
- finding a mysterious note in your grandmother’s attic
- getting lost in the woods with your dad
Each prompt includes a page to record your student’s story, and extra summer-themed pages are also included for recording longer stories.
