The first poem in the set is “Summer in the South” by Paul Laurence Dunbar. This poem talks about the way nature seems to wake up after the winter as spring arrives, with rosebuds peeping and orioles singing.
Our next poem is “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud” by William Wordsworth, which reminds us of how fleeting moments can create powerful, lasting memories.
“Summer Sun” by Robert Louis Stevenson is next. It tells of the persistence of the summer sun to poke through the tiniest crack to bring warmth and light.
The final poem is “The Sparrow” by Paul Laurence Dunbar. This is a lovely poem that reminds us not to ignore the beauty around us because it will not always be there.
