FREE Equine Science Unit Study Resources

I have three girls that just adore horses and love learning about them. My oldest daughter is fascinated with horses and loves to research them for school projects and learn about the different breeds and the history of horses. You can often find her with a horse book in hand, and a pencil in the other taking notes and drawing the different breeds. 

I enjoy taking a unit study approach to many subjects in our homeschool especially with science. Unit studies work beautifully for a child that doesn’t like to do school or starts to get glossy eyed when you pull out a big, fat, science textbook. If you have an older student that does horse riding as a hobby, or is in a horse or pony 4H club, adding some equine science unit studies to their studies could create a nice, well rounded elective credit!

This is a neat Horses Nature Study Activity from The Handbook of Nature Study that will have your students comparing the horse to different mammals and recording their findings in a journal. She has even included some free printables.
