I found this awesome FREE unit study from Engineering is Elementary that is perfect for winter time. In this unit study your kids will learn how to build a model of a mountain use what they learn from designing barriers and catches to engineer an avalanche protection system. There are a total of 8 activities in this unit study and it is geared for grades 3-5.
