DIY Robot Light-Up Costume

What kid doesn’t like robots? This super cool and simple costume will be a hit for techie kids everywhere. If your child likes to create and loves technology, encourage them to make this DIY light-up robot costume.
Having some instruction around robots will make an amazing study for kids. All you have to do is grab a few books on robots like “Robots, Robots Everywhere” by Sue Fliess, see some science fair experiments on YouTube, have your kids write about it, and do not miss out on making this super cool costume with them.
What I love about this craft idea for a robot unit study is that it is fairly simple to make. All you will need is a base in a rectangle of fabric with a hole for the head, called a tabard, and then everything is just sewn onto the front.

- Red and yellow cotton fabric
- Stripe and polka dot fabric scraps
- Different color felts
- Embroidery floss
- Buttons
- Cardboard pieces
