Have you ever been to a restaurant where they have a balloon artist? What about an amusement park or a county fair? Every time, my kids are fascinated by them. The twisting and turning that soon becomes a shape they know. It is amazing to watch their faces light up with amazement. Even I love watching them.
I find anyone who can see something out of a pile of remnants amazing. I can’t draw a straight line to save my life and I sure can’t see the vision for a balloon animal or creation by looking at a pocket full of balloons. But that’s what I love about them. They are so fun and fascinating to watch. And, of course, my kids love playing with them until they pop.
Sadly, I now have a latex allergy which prevents me from having balloons in our house. However, on occasion, we let them do some crafts and have them outside. In fact, the last time they were able to bring home some balloons they couldn’t wait to start creating. Which, of course, got me thinking…maybe there were crafts out there for which they could use these balloons.
Lo and behold, there were! In fact, I was amazed at the number of crafts I found. From balloon characters to cards to bracelets and so much more! And the best part? They don’t have to be expensive. Balloons are fairly cheap, especially if you buy them in bulk and the other needed supplies are likely to be in your craft closet. It doesn’t get much better than that!
All you need are a bundle of balloons, some cardstock, and a few extra supplies for these fun crafts!
