If your home has more LEGO bricks than you know what to do with then these 40 LEGO challenges for kids can be a creative way to take advantage of them.
When we started traveling, the LEGO were the first thing in the trailer so we wouldn’t forget them. Since then, we have amassed several more sets and only added to our collection.
For years, our oldest would only use the bricks as they were intended from the original set. He meticulously followed the instructions and then would carefully place them up on a shelf in his room. But when we moved from Oklahoma to Indiana (7 years ago), he literally tore apart every creation to pack them. He did this early one morning before I ever knew what happened and now we have a giant 50-gallon tub of lego pieces.
I quickly learned that my other kids, while they enjoy building and using their imaginations with LEGO bricks, they were not as attached to their “structures” and “creations” as my oldest. So at the end of the day, they would tear down and put everything back in the tub. Which was fantastic for pickup.
However, I wondered if there was more they could be doing with their LEGO bricks. Then I began seeing tons of posts and bloggers sharing about LEGO challenges and I was amazed! Even though my kids use their imaginations in creating their projects, I saw a huge opportunity for learning with LEGO bricks through challenges.
LEGO Challenges can be used in a variety of ways. Check out these challenges with your kids!
