I have a daughter that loves anything to do with math! I am quite blessed, because my other children did not enjoy it as much. One of her favorite things right now is learning about measurements. She loves to measure everything, and she really loves spouting off the liquid measurements she has memorized. Kids that are not math inclined can be extremely frustrated by measurements, especially when it comes time to learn how to convert them.
There are so many types of measurements that we will need to learn how to convert in our lifetime. If you have a child that is looking at a career field that is heavy in math and science, this is going to be very important. Converting can be confusing because there are so many types and things that need to be converted and memorized.
There are English to metric conversions, and metric to English conversions. They will need to learn how to convert fractions, square roots, temperatures, speed and more. Then there are the classic kitchen measurements we are all so familiar with and use in our everyday lives.
This is where cheat sheets are very beneficial. When you have a visual chart in front of you it helps to solidify it in your brain when you look at the answer. If you use them often, pretty soon you will start to memorize the most common ones and you won’t need to use them as much.
I have rounded up some popular FREE Printables and Cheat Sheets you can use with your children to help them with these skills:
