I have to be honest with you. I am not a history buff. I find it fascinating and interesting and I truly am learning more than I ever did when I was in school. However, I’m still not good at remembering dates and timelines. But that doesn’t mean I don’t teach them to my children.
In fact, history is one of my oldest favorite subjects. And World War I and II are probably his favorite time periods to study. He knows all about the planes, battles, military personal and more. He can practically recite just about anything you could want to know about both wars. And I love it!
And even though I can’t guarantee my other children love or even enjoy history as much as my oldest, I still want them to learn what has contributed to this the foundation and creation of the United States. These wars and more, are all a part of what makes the United States so great.
While you can read about World War II in books and biographies, I love adding printables and other resources to our studies to help bring a subject to life. Even though many homeschoolers take a summer break, you could learn about D-Day on it’s anniversary, June 6th, with these printables and resources all related to World War II and D-Day.
