How does color by number work?

Painting or coloring by number is a task where one follows the number codes in the shapes according to the legend which tells you what color to math can number to. (I feel like I made that definition really complicated, I am sorry.)

Basically, there is a legend or key that tells you what to color or paint the corresponding number in a shape in a complete drawing, image, picture – you get the idea. I am surely glad I don’t work for Miriam Webster or I would be fired.

Here is the thing, color by number math doesn’t stop at numbers. As your children get older and acquire more math knowledge, the color by number activity can become more challenging.

For instance, there is color by number addition, color by number subtraction, color by number fractions, color by number division, and color by number multiplication. I am sure there are more advanced forms but my brain hurts just thinking about it.
