Has the weather turned cold where you live yet? This weekend my home state of Oklahoma was hit pretty hard with a winter storm and in some areas they had up to 7″ of snow! That is a lot of snow for Oklahoma, especially at once! And while the pictures looked beautiful, I must admit I am happy we were nice and warm here in Florida. But that doesn’t mean I don’t love winter and all the coziness it brings.

In fact, one of my favorite parts of winter is sitting around a fire, snuggled up in a warm and fuzzy blanket. We just cozy up around a fire pit here in Florida, but it still gives me the same feelings of comfort.

A night around the fire with friends is one of the best ways to unwind from a crazy, busy week. And even though we don’t get snow down here in Florida, snuggling up with a favorite book and blanket is a great way to spend an afternoon or evening.

It may not be a popular opinion, but I do love winter. Not so much the cold and snow, but the fact that winter seems to be the time when everything slows down, even among the holiday hustle and bustle.

I feel like life is a little slower paced while the world takes a break and resets, especially at the beginning of a new year. Maybe that’s just me but I find it invigorating and exciting. It’s the perfect time to settle into a new book, a new series, and really enjoy reading.
