What You Should Never Say To Kids Struggling with Math

If you have or had a child struggling with math, you would know that it is tough. It can be downright frustrating. Yet, we also know that no matter how hard it can be for us, it is harder for our kids. Remember to seek the Lord in the struggle and be sure to steer clear of these things you should never say to the child who struggles with math.

I was at a loss when I first realized the trouble my son was having with math. I realized that traditional math lessons with worksheets just didn’t work for him. I had no idea what I was doing and he was falling behind, he was already behind.

I have to admit that sometimes I couldn’t help but cry because I thought I was failing him. I felt like I was hitting a brick wall in this. I had to go back to the very basics of math and work my way up to what he knew and what he didn’t know.

I also needed to incorporate a lot of different learning activities and lessons to help him. It turned out amazing, but it took a lot of work and didn’t go smoothly at first – at all.

I was careful to not discourage him too much or get frustrated too much, but of course, I am sure I failed at first. If you find yourself in this space, it is crucial that you learn these 5 things you should never say to the child who struggles with math. They are more common than you think.
