This story is about a man, Mr Popper, a house painter who lives with his wife and two children. Mr Popper decides to write to a polar explorer by the name of Admiral Drake, who ends up sending Mr Popper a penguin. Another penguin then joins the family, which is followed by another 10 baby penguins. After trying to pay for all the supplies needed to look after these penguins, Mr Popper realizes that the penguins should be back, living in the land they truly belong in.
