Since horses have always been a passion for my girls, we have done lessons, visited a horse ranch to take a trail ride, and even helped at our friend’s barn. They have specifically been interested in how to care for a horse.

There are so many aspects that go into horse care and things they need to learn. Being a horse owner is a big responsibility. Many horse owners have an equestrian journal. They say that this is the best way to keep track of accomplishments and important record keeping.

What Do You Put in a Horse Journal?

There are many different ways you can use a horse journal. A horse journal can be used for record keeping. It is a great way to track your horse’s health care. It is also an easy way to keep important records for your horse. 

Here are just a few different things that you can put in a horse journal:

• Record Keeping – This is where you can write down when you you need to change horse shoes, when you need to make farrier appointments. Add a photo of your horse, keep track of their age, breed and personal information. It can even be used as a handy equine expenses tracker.
• Horse Care Tracker – Owners uses this to keep track of the health care needs of their horse. Record vet visits, track feeding and general wellness. It is a great way to get you to keep an eye on your horse’s health. The condition of your horse is an important thing to keep track of.
• Horse Training Journals – Keep daily training logs and training plans for your horse. Keep records of competition results and write down show notes. Did your horse have a difficult time performing the last time you had them out? A daily diary for training is great to look back on later.
