Mankind has been interesting in space probably since the beginning of time. Most of our kids are eager to learn about it as well. These free printables and worksheets about space exploration will set up your homeschool to study outer space in a fun and engaging way.
Although people have been interested in exploring space as far back as we can imagine, it wasn’t until 1969 that the first person ever walked on the moon.
Since then, exploring space has actually been a tangible journey. Satellites have been launched to orbit the Earth, hundreds of people (and some monkeys) have been into space in various space crafts, and sent machines far, far up into space.
Your students can learn all types of cool information about space exploration. Here are a few:
1. The definition of space is only 62 miles above the Earth’s surface.
2. American Neil Armstrong was the first man to walk on the moon and said this infamous statement, “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
3. Machines have been on Jupiter, Mars, Saturn, and other spaces.
4. Astronauts actually carry air with them from Earth to explore outer space, because there is no air there to breathe.
If you are not sure where to start getting kids into learning of space exploration, here are some activities that might help:
Take your kids stargazing.
Buy or rent a telescope.
