If your high schooler is college-bound, you will need a transcript. Even if your child isn’t planning on attending college, a transcript is still a good idea because you never know what the future holds. I have been to several “Preparing Your Homeschool Child For College” seminars and do a lot of internet reading regarding the college-ready homeschooler…to say that transcripts are placed as a high priority would be an understatement.
The bad news is that there is a lot of pressure. The good news is that you don’t need to freak out because transcripts are not as difficult to compose as they are made out to be! It is literally possible to sit down in a day and create a transcript for your child. It’s easiest if you start the first year of high school, but as long as you have records of your child’s work, you can still create a transcript that your child can have confidence in!
Here is a free, printable transcript template for you to use! It comes with complete instructions as well as information on compiling a portfolio!
