I don’t think that any of us need to be convinced that time spent outdoors is good for you. However, sometimes it’s hard to get outside in the colder winter months. Suzanna at Wonder-filled Days has created a beautiful January Nature Calendar to help you and your kids make the most of the winter months.

The calendar is done in pen and watercolors with hand-drawn images. It includes a variety of short winter activities and observations for each day of the month. Activities include the following:

  • Observing moon phases and other astronomical events
  • Attracting and recognizing birds
  • Recognizing common tracks found in the snow
  • Making observations about the sun’s position and how it changes through the weeks
  • And more!

Print out the calendar and hang it on the fridge for the extra inspiration you need to get out and explore nature with your children.
