Chances are good that we all know a bird or a fish when we see one. But do your kids know what makes a bird a bird?

With this FREE Animal Classification Cut & Paste unit, students can learn about:

  • mammals
  • birds
  • fish
  • reptiles
  • amphibians
  • arthropods
  • mollusks
  • the difference between a vertebrate and an invertebrate

What’s included in this unit?

A brief description of what makes the groups of animals in this unit special is included. Each of these 10 worksheets challenges kids to take what they have learned and apply it to 8 or 9 animal examples.

Their job is to cut out the animals that match the group being studied and paste them onto the worksheets.

It’s a simple, no-prep science activity they can do to practice or sharpen life science skills any time they have a few moments.
