In math, regrouping is grouping items together, like making groups of tens when adding or subtracting two-digit numbers (or more). Another name for it is carrying and borrowing. This resource explains this process step-by-step and with detailed instructions.
It was difficult for me to introduce regrouping to my son without visually showing him how it was done. He is a kinesthetic and visual learner so showing him with visuals was really helpful.
