Science is usually a favorite subject among children because they enjoy doing the science experiments. It is usually not a favorite among parents because of said science experiments. This is why I am always on the lookout for easy experiments for my kids to do.

Children learn so much more when they can learn in a hands-on environment. As a homeschool mom I have noticed this first hand. I understand how it can be a struggle to gather up the materials and supplies and carve out a specific time to work on the experiment. They can be messy and time consuming, but they are a great learning experience.
We are part of a small science co-op that does science experiments each week that go along with what we are learning. This is a huge blessing for those mamas that don’t like to do them at home. Even in a class setting, with lots of things going on the children are so engaged and excited to do the experiments.
Science experiments are what make science come alive. When a child can “see” what they are reading about they can better understand it.
Astronomy is a popular science topic to learn about. There is just something amazing about looking at the night sky and marveling at all that it holds. If your children are wanting to learn about astronomy, you will enjoy these science experiments to go along with what you are learning.
