Can you believe this is our sixth and final set of Seven Wonders of the World reading comprehension units?
This time, our journey takes us throughout the Americas and to Europe to visit seven structures all completed after 1900, though some were started before that. We’ll see wonders built for business, commerce, and even survival. We’ll go from the tops of skyscrapers to underground tunnels.
What does it take to be considered a wonder of the world? Each list has its own unique history and background, and each list has its own set of criteria. The Seven Wonders of the Modern World is a list compiled in 1994 by the American Society of Civil Engineers. They took nominations from around the world and then chose the seven that they felt represented the best in modern civil engineering.
