When I was a kid, peanut butter and jelly were my favorite sandwiches. I think I ate them at least three times a week. If my mom cooked a meal we didn’t like or want to eat, peanut butter and jelly was always an option.
But it was just that…peanut butter and jelly. It was pretty normal and blah. I could choose between creamy or crunchy peanut butter and usually grape or strawberry jelly. That was about it. Nothing much more adventurous.
When I look around Pinterest for recipes, there are so many different variations of one recipe, including peanut butter and jelly. I couldn’t believe all the different options for a common, everyday sandwich. I found so many great looking recipes, so I picked out the best I could find. The ones that appealed to me and my kids.
April 2nd is National Peanut Butter & Jelly Day. Did you know there was such a thing? Well, there is! And any of the following recipes would be a fun way to celebrate the day. Sandwiches are a great lunch item, but changing it up a bit can be exciting. Give one of these recipes a try!
