The four weeks before Christmas is considered Advent. It is the season where we prepare our hearts and minds and our family for Christmas.
When I was growing up we always had an advent calendar. It was homemade and had these cute, little felt ornaments that you pulled out each night and then you hung those ornaments on the tree. I have fond memories of counting down to Christmas. Now that I am a mom myself, I love doing countdowns with my own children. This time I want to make sure that our focus isn’t on the cute ornaments, treats or gifts we get to pull out each day, but I want our focus to be on Jesus!
If you are looking for ways to incorporate advent into your Christmas traditions there are many ways to do this. I have compiled a list of really cute and fun Advent calendars (some of these focus on Jesus, some of them are just fun countdowns), as well as printables and sweet Advent Devotionals to read during advent (the four weeks leading up to Christmas).
