In just a few short weeks it will be Easter Sunday – or Resurrection Day as we call it in our house. As a child I remember getting fun, themed baskets full of new candy (that I rarely ate), toys and a new dress to wear for church that day. As a parent and minister’s wife, we are limited on our time Sunday mornings, so we decided years ago to forgo the basket idea and focus more on the Resurrection.
However, that doesn’t mean we don’t like to do something special for the kids! We just usually give it to them after church or the night before. As we live away from family now, it is my responsibility to put together their “baskets” from the grandparents, which has been fun for the past several years. Through our homeschool, we are being more purposeful in our studies and therefore, incorporating more into them – including special foods. So today I want to share with you some great recipes that are perfect for Easter weekend (Thurs – Sun).
