It may come as a shock to many people, but I have not worn makeup in almost 9 years. In fact, the handful of times I tried, my skin broke out so terribly it was red and hurt for days. So I haven’t worn makeup again. However, I decided right then and there that if I ever wore makeup again it would have to be natural and homemade.
I have tried several different natural makeups, but they all end with the same result – red, blotchy, irritated skin. And with my host of allergies and sensitivities, I finally just gave up altogether. That was until I realized I could make my own natural makeup at home.
Homemade Natural Makeup
If you’re changing your habits this year for healthier ones, why not change out your makeup too for homemade all-natural recipes too!
Like with most things, I was skeptical about being able to make makeup at home. I thought they would involve elusive ingredients that while they might be healthier, are usually much pricier. So living on a budget, the “no makeup” route was definitely more in our budget.
However, I was genuinely surprised that most of the recipes I found only used a handful of ingredients that could be used in several different products. And since many of them were all-natural herbs, you can even find most of the in your own kitchen! Who knew?!
