Mr. Rogers neighborhood was my favorite show ever when I was a little girl. I remember being mesmerized by the field trip to the crayon factory episode, and loved his gentle and soothing voice.

There are so many amazing things about Mr Rogers and his life that I never knew about as a child. I am loving all the media attention he has gotten lately, especially with the documentaries and the new movie about to released. Have your children ever seen an episode of Mr. Rogers? You can spend a whole week singing the songs and watching old episodes. You can learn more about Mr. Rogers and his show with these free printables and unit studies! We have even created some free printables of our own inspired by Mr. Rogers.

143 Day is celebrated on May 23 because it’s the 143rd day of the year (in non-leap years). The number 143 was famously used by Mister Rogers as a shorthand for “I love you”—1 letter in “I”, 4 in “love”, and 3 in “you.” Pennsylvania, Mister Rogers’ home state, officially declared May 23 as 143 Day to honor his legacy of kindness and encourage acts of love and community.
