You will NOT regret using STEM in your homeschool. I understand that some of us may shy away from these subjects because we just may not know a lot about them. However, if we don’t we are doing our children a huge disservice. Let me explain why.

I was doing some research recently on this new math program I am exploring for my son for the summer. This specific program promises to get your child learning a year’s worth of math in only 10 weeks. Sounds incredible right? Anyway, I will move on.

-According to a Georgetown research paper, Science, Engineering, Technology, and Mathematics (STEM) jobs are one of the fastest-growing occupations in the years to come.

-70% of all those professions WILL require significant mathematical knowledge for success.

What then, are we doing so that our children will grow up to be competitive in this industry? Not teaching and encouraging an interest in STEM is cutting our children off from amazing opportunity.

This article will help us understand how important STEM is on our homeschooling. With STEM, children begin to learn practical life skills; curiosity, creativity, communication, problem-solving, leadership, and more.
