Imagine visiting a natural history museum, observatory or even a science and art museum on your way to … well, anywhere really. There are over 370 museums currently participating in the ASTC Travel Passport program, with about 350 of the museums in the United States.

There are a few steps you need to take in order to ensure that the museum you want to visit for free will honor your valid science museum membership. But it’s not too hard, and it’s definitely worth it! The Genius Guide to Free Science Museum Visits (it’s a free printable) is a step-by-step guide to help you get into 370 science museums for the price of an annual family membership to a science museum close to you.

Why Do Homeschoolers Love Science Museum Memberships?

  • Interactive learning without the messy clean up of kitchen table science labs.
  • Thought-provoking resources that help you bring to life specific aspects of your homeschool science curriculum.
  • Discounts! Often there are discounts for the cafeteria, gift shop, etc. Sometimes those same discounts are extended to the other museums you can visit for free with the ASTC Travel Passport Program.
