Although we are traveling in the south this winter, my kids have loved living further north where we got plenty of snow. They loved playing in the snow, building forts, snowmen and having snowball fights too. Even if they couldn’t be outside for long, they made the most of their time.
A couple of years ago we started doing more unschooling and using the weather and our children’s interest to guide our studies. So each winter we studied about ice and snow. We did fun printables, made snow ice cream (their favorite) and even did a few crafts.
This year with the release of Frozen 2, I thought it would be the perfect time to do a fun study on ice and snow, even though we are in the south. They saw the movie with their grandparents over Thanksgiving, so they are ready to study and learn more!
Whether your kids have seen the new Frozen 2 movie or you’re waiting for it to come out on disk, they will love learning more about the ice and snow with these FREE printables, science experiments and more!
With winter quickly approaching, now is the perfect time to do these ice, icicle, and snow science experiments!
