Summertime usually brings a relaxed schedule and lots of free time for kids. If you’re worried that your children will get a little rusty, you can use a reading log to help them stay brushed up. If reading is your main objective, then any books will do. If you want your child to retain learned information from a certain topic, then give your child a list of approved books. For example, if he studied zoology this past year, then you could have him read some books like National Geographic’s Animals: Giraffes and Wind in the Willows. The trick is to find fiction and non-fiction books that will capture his attention and be fun to read.
