We were not always Charlotte Mason homeschoolers. It has simplified our life a ton! Read about our CM journey here & how it brought happiness back to our homeschool! Note, this was written when my daughter was in seventh grade. She is now in eighth grade. To read about what we are using this year, click here.

So, what is a living book? Great question. Living books are inspiring stories that engage the mind and open it up to worlds and ideas. The books “come alive” and are passionately written, normally by only one author. They are the opposite of text books. Children learn by reading stories, both fiction and non-fiction. If you Google “What is a Living Book?” you will get a ton of different answers!
