Have you ever heard of Elkonin boxes? ELkonin boxes are simple tools to help kids build phonological awareness. The Elkonin boxes divide words into their individual phonemes.

Elkonin boxes help kids hear the phonemes and develop an important pre-reading skill.

You can use these Elkonin boxes a few different ways. You can use them by name the picture and a particular sound or to say the picture on each card and listen for the sounds in each word.

This Elkonin boxes freebie contains cards with images and with clip art (in both color and black and white). There is even an answer key in the free download.
