The Lost Prince of Samavia, by Francis Hodgson Burnett. The author of The Secret Garden does not disappoint with this classic book with a 4-star rating.
The Magna Carta, by James Daugherty. Follow the saga of King John, Richard the Lionheart, Robinhood and a full cast of “characters” in this 4.5-star historical account available in paperback or audio.
The Ocean of Truth: The Story of Sir Isaac Newton, by Joyce McPherson. This highly rated book explores Newton’s scientific accomplishments and deep Christian faith in an engaging manner for readers.
The Story of Madame Curie, by Frederico Castellon. If you can find this out-of-print book, grab it! It is excellent and very difficult to find.
Treasure Island, by Robert Louis Stevenson. An exciting book by one of Scotland’s most famous authors.
Black Fox of Lorne, by Marguerite De Angeli. Another book to add to your shelf, if you can find it at a price you can afford. It gets rave reviews for its enchanting story of a Danish Family that settles in Northern Scotland in 1000 AD.
Castle, by David Macauley. an in-depth book on the construction and technology of medieval castles.
George Meuller: the Guardian of Bristol’s Orphans, by Janet & Geoff Benge. Read about the man who set the standard of faith & generosity.
Jacob T. Marley, by R. William Bennett. An excellent (4.5 stars!) twist on Dicken’s A Christmas Carol.
Little Lord Fauntleroy, by Frances Hodgson Burnett. This lesser-known work ( 4.5 starts) by the author of The Secret Garden, is sure to be enjoyed with its rich characters and beautiful illustrations.
