Biblical Feasts Rosh Hashanah Copywork

One of the main themes of the Feast of Trumpets, or Rosh Hashanah, is preparing our hearts to meet God. Studying His Word and making it a part of our hearts and our lives is one way we can do that.

Rosh Hashanah Scripture Verses

The first verse in this set of copywork is from when God ordered Moses and the people of Israel to keep the feast. In Leviticus 23:23-24, it says, “And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation” (KJV).

The sound of the trumpet reminded the people of the coming of a king. It was also used to sound an alarm. Both were appropriate for the feast. They needed to remember that God was their king and deserving of all honor, obedience, and respect. It also reminded them that God was coming to them, as He had promised again and again. He would send the Messiah to save them so they could live with Him forever.

Our second verse is from the end of history. Jesus said, “And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the otherMatthew 24:31 (KJV).

The first time Jesus came, it was humbly, as a sacrifice to save us from our sins and shortcomings. The next time He comes, it will be as the King of Kings.

Preparing Our Hearts

Now is the time to prepare our hearts. We can never do enough or be enough on our own to please God. But because of Jesus, we don’t have to be.

Ask Him to help you understand what He has done for you and to make you right with Him. Let Him rule in your life, and if you aren’t sure what that means or how to do that, reach out to us. It would be our pleasure to talk with you.
