We are using Apologia General Science this year and it is kicking our butts. Just keeping it real. The Q&A in the notebooking journal makes my daughter freeze up and when I look over her “On Your Own” answers I have no idea if she is correct. SIGH!!

I considered purchasing the DVD so she could have it “taught” to her, but she normally hates DVD lessons. The only one she has enjoyed has been Cover Story Writing Curriculum. So, I have been searching…

This evening I was browsing around on Pinterest and stumbled upon a website that has FREE, at-your-own-pace, online lectures/courses for the upper grades of Apologia Science, starting at General Science. Did I mention is is FREE???

I listened to some of the module lectures, which have slides and a voice lesson. I think that is better since kids are so easily annoyed by online teachers (or maybe it is just mine??) They were informative and didn’t lose my interest.

I didn’t go through everything or read documents yet, just wanted to see if it was really free and even something I could consider. The answer is Yes & Yes! I will still have her read her textbook, but then have her try watching the lecture to make sure she “got it.”

I wanted to share this resource with you since I don’t think I am the only one who struggles teaching science! Oh! and they have some Saxon courses for math too –  Saxon Algebra 1 and Saxon Advanced Mathematics. Since we don’t use Saxon, I didn’t watch those though.
