The best part of homeschooling is the ability to adjust your school schedule according to your work, life, learning abilities, and more. Most states require a set number of school days; however, they do not require you to school on any specific day. Many families who choose to homeschool year-round, adjust their schedule to homeschool on select days of the week or for select hours each day (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday). Homeschooling year-round comes with benefits that you can’t get using a traditional school year calendar:

2021-22 Year-Round Homeschooling Schedule

1. Homeschooling year-round takes the usual 180-day curriculum and spreads it out over the course of an entire year. As a result, students get less work to do each day.

2. While homeschooling year-round doesn’t provide an extended period of time off, students have more time off throughout the course of the year.

3. Your student won’t be taking an extended summer break, which means new academic skills stay sharp.

4. Regularly scheduled breaks throughout the year allow you to take advantage of off-season vacations and attractions.
