We love reading books about famous people in our homeschool. It really helps history, science and whatever else we are studying come to life. This is especially true when you are reading about the famous person that created a cure you just read about in science. Or a general who helped to lead his soldiers out of battle during a famous war. If you enjoy reading books in addition to what they are studying you will love this mega list of biographies for kids.

The Benefits of Reading Biographies for Kids:
Biographies can make history come to life.
When you read a biography you are reading the story of that famous person’s life and how they came to accomplish all that they did. You aren’t having to memorize important dates on a timeline or study for a history test. You just get to rid about a very interesting person and their real life story of how they came to do what they did that made them become famous! If you enjoy living books in your homeschool, then biographies are for you.
Biographies are inspiring.
Biographies are inspiring, and motivating. They can stir something within you to be a better person, to work harder, to be creative to make a difference in this world. These people who are famous, were regular, ordinary people before they became famous. They overcame challenges, and many grew up with a very difficult up bringing. Many of them experienced lot of sadness and tragedy, but they overcame it to move on to do great things.

When were first saw the YWAM books at the homeschool convention I was drawn to the missionary stories and my husband was immediately pulled to the history books.
