We first started reading Aesop’s Fables in first grade with my youngest. We used Abeka back then and they had a beginning reader that contained Aesop’s Fables. I loved how they were really short, easy to read, and contained a moral of the story.

  • Aesop’s Fables – Guide to help students be successful in helping them read and understand Aesop’s Fables.
  • Aesop’s Fables Fictional Genre – Teach 3rd-5th graders about the fictional genre of fables. This presentation contains definition, characteristics, tips, and examples with answers. Aesop’s Fables are a fun and great way to learn how to determine the moral of a selection! 
  • Aesop’s Fable – Students create an original fable using a paper cube, while making a connection to their own lives.
  • The Bundle of Sticks – Writing is a Process – Based upon one of Aesop’s fables, “The Bundle of Sticks – Writing is a Process” contains a object lesson arguing that dividing a writing project into smaller tasks is a successful strategy for understanding how most writers write.
