One of my biggest pet peeves is making a grocery list, shopping, and getting back home to cook dinner only to find out that I missed an ingredient! I would get so upset, especially if I really had my heart set on that meal. And no matter how hard I tried, I always forgot something!
That’s when I started using a checklist. I typed out our most common ingredients and shopping items first, then I added others we got on occasion and finally those we rarely got but wanted to make sure we didn’t run out.
Then I laminated it and stuck it to the refrigerator to be able to keep a running tally. Whenever we were low or ran out of something, I would put a checkmark next to the item. Then when it came time to make the shopping list, I didn’t leave anything out!
I was amazed that I could get in and out of the store with everything I needed to make the meals I had planned for the coming week! In our last home our pantry was completely separate from the kitchen, so keeping the list on our fridge didn’t work. So I used both a freezer/fridge inventory and a pantry inventory page.
Another problem I had was keeping it all organized once I got it home! Of course, what works for us may not work for you, so take these printables and organizational ideas and turn them into what you need.
Make sure you never run out of those key ingredients and supplies with these inventory and organizational printables for your freezer and pantry.
