As time goes by, you hear more and more news on the media about community helpers that don’t do the right thing. Combating that idea in our home may be a little tricky. Community helpers, in fact, truly are an essential part of helping our community function. They keep us safe, provide care, fight fires, and are selfless more times than not.
Use these printables about community helpers to teach your kids appreciation for those who choose to serve on a daily basis.
There is something about putting others first, about going into a career knowing that your main objective is to help another person. The Bible has plenty to say about being a servant because, after all, the Bible was written to reveal the Servant of ALL in Jesus Christ. Being a servant is an ideal that was perfectly shown by Jesus our Lord.
Those who serve in careers that help others daily have incredible opportunities to spread God’s Word if they are Christian. In doing so, those people are serving the Lord in their obedience. To help others and spread the gospel when they can is a rewarding and sometimes not so rewarding career choice.
Teachers, postal workers, and even maintenance specialists have opportunities to shine a light in communities as they provide a service to others all around.
Jesus provided the ultimate example of how to serve one another. Likewise, community helpers serve others in ways that no other career fields can match. Police officers, doctors, firefighters, builders, librarians, etc., all these careers were sought with serving others in mind. That is worth the time in teaching our kids about community helpers.
Grab these printables about community helpers to help your kids learn about and appreciate those who serve for a living.
